our philosophy of food
Our philosophy of food rests on the following principles:
- Eat healthy. Eat Local. Indulge yourself.
- Don't ever pass up good food.
- Homemade is better.
- Recipes should serve as guides, following one exactly can be tedious.
- Making a dish the exact same way every time can be boring.
- Splurge on the good stuff. Use fresh, all natural ingredients whenever possible.
- Dining out is inspiration for dining in.
- Cooking with family and friends makes a meal taste better.

the story of the pumpkin soup cookies
The secret to the perfect pumpkin cookie is - don't tell anyone - onion! Many of the best ideas are discovered by chance. When we were kids, Christa and Emma decided to make pumpkin cookies with the pumpkin mom had cooked the day before. Naturally, we had to interrupt her bath time to inquire about the location of the pumpkin since searching the fridge would have taken way too long. "It's in a glass jar on the door."
We grabbed the first glass jar of pumpkin we saw, measured out 2 cups, and went on with the baking. Our brother has a special talent for being where the food is and before we could ice the first cookie, he walked in the front door and downed at least three. We iced a few and the whole family sampled them and smacked our lips with glee before someone asked what the white things were. In our haste we'd used pumpkin soup for the cookies, which gave them a nice kick and opened our eyes to the endless possibilities of food.

what are the prices for how many weeks of your csa? I don't think we are going to do it just because we plan on a big garden with variety but the link below is the one I was looking at in case we wanted to. I was just curious how the prices and everything differ?
